Identity Insights

Identity Insights summarizes the results from several watchlist sources, which includes the office of foreign assets control (OFAC) sanction lists, and high-risk business (HRB) operators, owners, and investors.

Identity Insights also includes an adverse media check, which is a database of global news about individuals, companies, and politically exposed persons (PEPs) with relevant negative results based on the financial action task force (FATF) crime categories.

Watchlist Definitions

The following list defines watchlist terms shown in the Identity Insights area.

Strong Match Hits

Number of watchlists on which the person being verified appears. 200 is maximum value.

Total Hits

Total number of records that contributed to the decision.

Abstract Summary

An indication of the matches associated with results, for example, Watchlists, OFAC, PEP, Criminal, Negative News, and so on.

Watchlists

Names of watchlist categories that contributed to the decision, for example, Sanctions and OFAC, Regulatory Authority, Criminal, High Risk Business Association, MSB, and Others. For each watchlist category, the result includes any of the following:

  • Cleared. No hits.

  • FAIL. Fails sanctions screening. Appears on one or more watchlists. A telephone number to the OFAC hotline is provided.

  • Verify. Further verification is required. Download the accompanying detailed watchlist report for more information.
